In February 2025 we washed the back of the building at The Shoppes at Turtle Creek, a shopping center at 429 Loganville Hwy in Winder, removing dark streaks of algae and mildew from the brick.

The property

The Shoppes at Turtle Creek is a shopping center at 429 Loganville Hwy in Winder. The rear of the building is a long brick elevation with lighter banded courses, service doors, utility meters and downspouts, facing a paved service drive.

The job

The scope was the entire back of the building: remove dirt, debris, cobwebs, algae, mold, mildew and other surface stains. Before the wash, dark streaks of algae and mildew ran down the brick below the roofline, and rust-colored staining marked one corner.

The property manager asked for the date in advance so the tenants could be told. The crew started early on the morning of Tuesday, February 25, 2025 and finished that morning. One working water spigot was found on site, which saved time on the job.

The result

The photos above show the rear walls before the wash, in the dark and at dawn, and after it in daylight. The streaks are gone and the brick is an even color again. The property manager said the building looks much better.

The next day the property asked us to price the sidewalks, a retaining wall and the pylon sign near the front of the center as well.
