Walkway Cleaning and Bird Dropping Removal in Downtown Atlanta, GA

The property

The Canyon is a covered pedestrian passage at Centennial Yards South in downtown Atlanta. Concrete walkways run beside tall concrete walls under an overhead structure, past service doors and railings. Bird droppings had built up on the walkways, scattered by the doors and in a dark line along the base of the wall.

The job

The scope was removing the bird droppings from the walkway surfaces. The crew washed the walkways on the morning of July 5, 2023, and we sent the property team before and after photos that day.

The walls were not part of this scope and were left as they were, so the after photos show the walkway cleaning only.

We did this work for the same property team that hired us twice that year for the Nelson Street pedestrian bridge, also downtown.

The result

The photos above are paired: the same stretch of walkway and the same service door, before and after. The droppings by the door and the line along the wall are gone, and the concrete is clear. The property manager replied that the area looked much better.

Bird droppings come back wherever birds keep landing. For a covered walkway like this one, the practical answer is a repeat cleaning on a schedule that fits how fast it builds up, which we can quote with the first visit.
