College Building Wash and Canopy Cleaning in Clarkston, GA

The property

The Paul M. Starnes Center is a Georgia Piedmont Technical College building at 1085 Montreal Road in Clarkston. Its sign lists the college’s adult education and ESL programs. It is a single-story painted block building with covered walkways, a covered shipping and receiving area, and a flat roof drained by gutters.

The job

We walked the building in 2023 and again in March 2024. The college scheduled the work for the first week of April, its spring break, when no students would be on campus. Before issuing the purchase order, the college asked for an updated certificate of insurance and a notarized E-Verify form.

The scope covered five services:

• Building wash: soft washing at high volume and low pressure to remove dirt, cobwebs, algae, mold, mildew and stains
• Exterior window cleaning: all windows and doors, using a deionized water-fed pole and/or detergent and a squeegee
• Gutter cleaning: clearing leaves, dirt and debris so rainwater runs off the roof
• Sidewalk, pathway and stair deep cleaning: concrete cleaner, 200-degree hot water and a surface cleaner, then a high-pressure rinse
• Canopy cleaning: the underside and sides of the canopy over the covered walkways

The result

The photos above show the change on the building itself. The orange streaks on the block wall beside the shipping and receiving door are gone. The dark mildew around a tall window has been washed off. The college’s monument sign is clean, and the roof gutters are clear of leaves.

Two months later the college brought us to its Newton campus in Covington for concrete and awning cleaning.
